Updated guidance: This guide replaces our earlier card-payment guidance. We no longer recommend a specific payment provider.

You can use an eligible credit or debit card to pay your Firetail invoice. Our checkout uses a payment provider that lets you buy cryptocurrency with your card and sends it to us automatically to settle your invoice.

This is why the payment page may mention buying crypto or show a cryptocurrency amount. It is part of this payment method. You do not need to already own crypto or arrange a separate transfer when using the integrated card checkout.

Your card → Crypto purchase → Payment to Firetail
You complete the checkout steps; the provider handles the conversion and transfer.

How to complete your payment

  1. Open your unpaid invoice. Sign in to your Firetail client area and choose the invoice you want to pay.
  2. Select the credit/debit card option. Continue to the payment page. If more than one provider is offered, choose one available for your location and review its quote.
  3. Enter your details accurately. Use your own card, your legal name and the billing address held by your bank. Complete any email or phone confirmation requested.
  4. Complete verification if prompted. The provider may ask for a government-issued ID, a selfie or proof of address. Follow the instructions on its checkout page.
  5. Review the final total and approve. Check the currency, fees and amount before confirming. Your bank may ask you to approve the payment in its app or enter a one-time code (3D Secure).
  6. Wait for confirmation. Allow the provider to finish processing, then return to your Firetail invoice and check that it shows Paid. Keep the receipt or transaction reference until it does.

Why am I being asked for ID?

It is understandable to have questions. Identity verification is a normal part of many card-to-crypto purchases. It helps the provider confirm who is making the payment, prevent fraud and meet its verification requirements. A verification request does not mean you have done anything wrong.

Submit documents only through the provider’s verification flow reached from your invoice. Use clear photos of a valid ID. Checks can take longer if a manual review is needed, and additional checks may be requested on later payments. Please do not send your ID, full card number or security codes to Firetail support.

Before you pay

  • Fees and limits vary. The final checkout total may include processing or network fees. Your bank may also apply currency conversion, international transaction or cash-advance charges for a crypto purchase. Check with your bank if unsure.
  • Use the details supplied by your invoice. Do not change the receiving wallet, asset or network, or make a separate crypto purchase outside this checkout. If a prompt is unclear, contact support before continuing.
  • Allow time before your due date. Bank approval, identity checks and network confirmation can delay completion. Some UK providers also require a cooling-off period for first-time purchases; follow the timing shown at checkout.
  • Save your receipt. Your card statement may show the payment provider’s name. Match the amount and reference to your receipt. Contact support about payment or refund questions; do not assume a completed crypto transfer can be reversed.

Where is this option available?

Availability depends on the provider, your location, your card issuer and the cryptocurrency used. Restrictions usually apply to countries, territories or U.S. states, including the cities within them.

For our Canadian clients

We have received reports that clients in Canada cannot complete this card checkout. If you are affected, please contact Firetail support for an available alternative before trying again. This does not mean all card-to-crypto services are unavailable throughout Canada.

If you choose Ramp Network: its published restrictions include Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Washington, plus Puerto Rico. Texas also restricts purchases of stablecoins such as USDC and USDT through Ramp.

Examples of unsupported countries and territories for Ramp include the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, British and U.S. Virgin Islands, China, Russia, Cuba, Iran and North Korea. This is not the complete list, and these restrictions should not be treated as a ban across every provider.

Check Ramp’s full location list and asset restrictions for updates. Use your actual location and billing details; do not use a VPN or a different address to bypass restrictions.

Need a hand?

Card declined? Check your details and ask your bank whether it allows this type of purchase. Use another eligible method shown on your invoice or contact us.

Charged, but your invoice still says Unpaid? Do not pay again while the first payment is pending. Contact us with your invoice number, payment reference, amount and time of payment. A pending card authorization alone does not confirm that the invoice has been settled.

We’re here to help you complete your payment.

Sign in to your Firetail client area and open a support ticket if your location is unsupported, verification gets stuck or you need help checking a payment.

Updated 14 September 2026. Provider availability and requirements can change. Follow the current instructions and final quote displayed at checkout.
